Paphos becomes preferred destination for Polish tourists

Paphos has established itself as one of the leading destinations in Cyprus for Polish tourists during the first quarter of 2025, continuing a strong trend that began last year.

According to official tourism statistics, around 49% of Polish visitors to Cyprus currently choose to stay in Paphos. This makes Poland one of the most important tourism markets for the region, especially during a period of uncertainty caused by the temporary decline in Israeli tourism due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Air connections between Poland and Paphos have reached their highest level so far. At present, up to 20 flights per week operate from six major Polish airports. Ryanair has secured an almost dominant position on these routes, significantly strengthening direct access to Paphos for travellers from Poland.

The growing interest from Polish tourists has become a strategic priority for Cyprus tourism authorities. With the support of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, local tourism boards and industry representatives are implementing targeted initiatives to promote Paphos in the Polish market as a year-round destination.

Officials note that while a gradual return of Israeli visitors is expected after regional stabilisation, diversification of source markets remains essential. The Polish market now plays a key role in maintaining stable tourism flows and supporting the local economy.

Tourism remains one of the main pillars of the Cypriot economy. According to recent economic data, the tourism sector contributes approximately 15% of Cyprus’s GDP, highlighting the importance of strengthening international connections and attracting visitors from new markets.

With increased flight availability, competitive prices and a growing reputation as a high-quality destination, Paphos continues to strengthen its position among Polish travellers and international visitors alike.
