Public transport in Cyprus is mainly represented by buses that connect different areas of Paphos, nearby suburbs, and surrounding villages. As bus services are not always frequent or regular, especially in the evenings, many travellers choose more convenient ways of getting around, such as renting a car at the airport or with delivery directly to their hotel.

In Paphos, the bus network can be broadly divided into three categories:
  • city routes
  • suburban routes
  • intercity buses
City buses

The main and most popular route is bus No. 615, which runs from the Paphos Harbour along the coast to the “Coral Bay / Coralia Beach” stop. This route connects the main tourist area with the best sandy beaches in the city. Tickets can be purchased from the driver in cash.

Bus No. 611 connects the Harbour with the Geroskipou area and large modern hotels, and at the end of the route goes to Aphrodite Waterpark. Bus No. 610 runs from the Harbour to Paphos Old Town (Kennedy Square), where you will find historic buildings, pedestrian streets and cafés.

Suburban and intercity buses (Intercity Bus)
Intercity buses in Cyprus

Suburban and intercity buses depart from the central Karavella Bus Station (currently temporarily relocated closer to the city market area).
From here, Intercity routes operate to Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Ayia Napa. Timetables are available on the official website: www.cyprusbybus.com.

Local routes to nearby and more remote villages around Paphos also depart from this station.
You can reach the Harbour by bus No. 610, which runs approximately every 30 minutes.

Bus No. 613 does connect Karavella Bus Station with Paphos Airport, but it runs very infrequently.

For airport trips, bus No. 612 is generally more convenient. It passes through the Kato Paphos / Poseidonos Avenue area (about a 7–10 minute walk from the Harbour).

Shuttle buses (express services)
Kapnos Airport Shuttle buses

For travel between Larnaca Airport and Paphos, the most convenient option is the Kapnos Airport Shuttle.
This is the fastest way to travel between the two airports without transfers or long waiting times, especially if you are travelling with luggage or arriving on a late flight.

The shuttle operates strictly according to schedule and runs non-stop, keeping travel time stable at around 1.5 hours.
The buses are air-conditioned and equipped with comfortable seating, making the journey pleasant even during the hot summer months.

Fare: €16 one way.
Tickets can be purchased online in advance or directly from the driver when boarding.

Taxis
Taxi in Paphos, Cyprus

Taxis in Cyprus are licensed and easy to recognise: they have a TAXI sign on the roof and yellow licence plates.
Vehicles range from standard sedans to minivans, although most taxis are comfortable mid-range or business-class cars.

Until recently, Cyprus did not have convenient taxi-hailing apps, and taxis were usually ordered through hotels or local dispatch services.
Today, the Bolt app operates in Paphos and works well in central areas.

However, in more remote areas such as Tala, Peyia or Emba, cars may take longer to arrive or may not be available at all, so traditional phone-booked taxis are still commonly used there.

Approximate taxi fares in Paphos are €10–15 for city trips, €30–35 to Paphos Airport, and €100–120 to Larnaca Airport.

The final price depends on distance, time of day and vehicle type. Taxis are a comfortable way to get around Cyprus, but for frequent trips their cost often exceeds the price of daily car rental, which is why many travellers choose to rent a car.

Car rental
Car rental in Paphos

If you plan to travel actively around the island, visit beautiful beaches, natural attractions and small villages, a car is the most convenient way to get around.

Public transport in Cyprus is not always regular, especially in the evenings and at weekends, while taxis are mainly practical for short distances.
Car rental offers more freedom and allows you to travel independently without relying on bus schedules or organised excursions.

With a car, you can choose your own route and pace — deciding how much time to spend at the beach, in villages or at sightseeing spots.
This option is particularly convenient for families and travellers with children.

In addition, car rental is often more cost-effective than purchasing excursion tickets for several people and allows you to see significantly more places in a limited amount of time.
