TUI Cyprus Marathon is one of the largest and most well known running events in Cyprus and will take place in Paphos on 7 and 8 March 2026. In 2026 the marathon will be held for the 28th time and will welcome runners from many countries.
The main start and finish area for most races is located on the Paphos seafront at Paphos Castle Square.
The programme includes four race distances, so the event is suitable for experienced runners as well as amateurs, teenagers and families on the shorter runs.
Race distances:
- Marathon - starts from Petra tou Romiou (the birthplace of Aphrodite), finishes in Paphos
- Half Marathon - starts in Paphos, Paphos Castle Square
- 10 km Road Race - starts in Paphos, Paphos Castle Square
- 5 km Sunset Run - starts in Paphos, Paphos Castle Square (Saturday, 7 March at 16:00)
Minimum age for participation:
- Marathon - 18 years
- Half Marathon - 16 years
- 10 km Road Race - 12 years
- 5 km Sunset Run - 7 years
For spectators and visitors, the main event area is located on the Paphos seafront at Paphos Castle Square. This is the recommended point to use on the map when planning your visit. The start of the full Marathon is located separately at Petra tou Romiou.
A special side event, the Cyprus Wine Run, will take place on 10 March 2026.
All participants receive commemorative medals with the figure of Aphrodite, a technical RONHILL t-shirt, and refreshments at the finish line. More than 150 age category trophies will be awarded.
Marathon history
The Cyprus Marathon is dedicated to the legendary Cypriot runner Stelios Kyriakides, winner of the Boston Marathon in 1946. His victory became a symbol of strength and recovery for Cyprus after the Second World War.
