Geroskipou
Geroskipou is an independent municipality located to the east of the city of Paphos, just a short drive from the city centre. Although it is administratively separate from Paphos, it is closely connected to the city and is often considered part of the wider urban area.
Geroskipou is one of the most established and populated residential areas near Paphos. The area is primarily oriented towards everyday local life rather than tourism, with a strong presence of permanent residents. It offers a full range of urban infrastructure, including schools, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, sports facilities and municipal services.
The municipality has historical significance and is home to the Agia Paraskevi church, one of the most important Byzantine monuments in the Paphos region. Geroskipou is also traditionally associated with the production of loukoumi, which has long been part of the area’s local identity.
Residential development in Geroskipou is mixed. The area includes older neighbourhoods with private houses as well as newer residential complexes and modern housing projects. This variety makes Geroskipou popular among families and those looking for long-term accommodation close to Paphos.
Geroskipou is well connected in terms of transport. Main roads linking Paphos with the eastern part of Cyprus pass nearby, and the city centre, coastal areas and commercial zones can be reached easily by car or public transport.
Geroskipou is a practical choice for those looking for a developed residential area near Paphos, offering full urban infrastructure and a predominantly local character, suitable for permanent living and long-term rental.
